Village of Villefert

The village of Villefert was once the capital of an independent commune. Attached to the Mas d'Artiges in 1831, it had 146 inhabitants in 1821.
Do not hesitate to make a short round trip of 100 m to see the ruins of its old church which are on your left. They are difficult to see in summer because they are hidden by vegetation (be careful, do not go any further, the site is unsecured and may be unsafe). Dating from the 12th or 13th century, it was dedicated to St-Robert and then St-Laurent.

Village of Crépiat

The villages of Limousin were all heavily involved in agriculture. Walking through these hamlets always produces interesting discoveries during a hike: barns, mansions, crosses and monuments, traditional local architecture... Crépiat has a wash-house but above all, in a meadow on the left at the exit of the village, don't miss the magnificent lime tree known as "de Sully", in homage to Henri IV's minister who ordered lime trees to be planted throughout the kingdom of France.

  5. Go straight down into the village. Turn right onto the road. Continue straight on this road until you reach the church (before the church, on the left below the road, is a spring).
