    Dolmen d'Urbe

    Located in the woods of Urbe, it is also called "La Pierre Levée", the raised stone. One tradition tells how young local girls would climb up on the table and jump to the ground to find a husband within a year.

    The Towers of Crocq

    Last vestiges of a magnificent 12th-century fortified château, the two towers offer a splendid panorama of the Limousin and Auvergne. Two rooms present a history of the restoration work and host seasonal exhibitions.

Description

  1. Go down the main street towards La Courtine. Go past the college and take the first road on the left, in the direction of Laval.
  2. In the village of Laval, turn left on the downhill road, signposted "le Dolmen"; go through the woods.
  3. Go up slightly towards the clearing where the dolmen is located and follow the path, which, on the way down, joins the Laval-Dimpoux road.
  4. Turn left (100 m before the road) on the road leading to Saint-Alvard.
  5. Go up to the chapel and, at the top on the left, take the path that goes between the meadows and then into the wood.
  6. Follow the path straight ahead (leaving the path on the right that goes up to La Mazerette). After the stream, turn right onto the uphill path into the wood and follow it straight on until you reach the road to Crocq.
  7. Cross the road and take the passage opposite to go up towards the village.

Access and parking

From Aubusson, follow the D 941 in the direction of La Villetelle, then turn right on the D 9 to Crocq.
